MISSION STATEMENT
The First Coast - Brain Injury Support Group, Inc. (FC-BISG) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, serving Northeast Florida and Southeast Georgia and is dedicated to the active empowerment, advocacy, education and support of individuals impacted by acquired brain injury (BI), including families, friends, professionals and the communities in which they live.

MEMBERSHIP
Our membership is open to anyone. We are proud to serve 17 counties in northern and central Florida and four counties in south Georgia.

MEETINGS
Our support group meets one a month. FC-BISG offers a series of three different meetings over a quarter year, each with their own focus.

1. Split Groups - give survivors and caregivers the opportunity to meet separately with your own facilitator. You can openly share feelings and information with peers.
2. Information/Education - is the second meeting of each quarter. We try to provide speakers that will bring information that is needed and often requested by members.
3. Recreation and Inclusion - is the third meeting in the series at the end of each quarter. Learning how to interact with others is an important part of accepting and learning how to deal with a disability.
